Through the sale of fair trade goods, both consumable and non-consumable, workers across the globe earn just wages for their labors. Such just wages permit families to provide an education for their children, receive health care, purchase needed medications, gain access to clean drinking water and generally improve their standard-of-living. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) plays a big role in the creation of cooperatives in many third-world countries and providing small zero-interest loans to those individuals wanting to start their own enterprise.
Volunteers are needed:
• To assist in the sale of fair trade coffee and chocolate which occurs at Blessed Trinity monthly breakfast
• To educate parishioners on making informed socially aware purchases
